Privacy Policy.

The short version: DANGIT saves only what you explicitly choose to save. We do not read your conversations, we do not track your browsing, and we do not sell your data. Ever.

This Privacy Policy describes how DANGIT ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the DANGIT Chrome extension and associated services at trydangit.in. By installing and using DANGIT, you agree to the practices described here.

01 Who We Are

DANGIT is a Chrome browser extension that helps you save and manage context from AI conversations on Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. We are an independent product based in Hyderabad, India. Reach us at dangit.app@gmail.com.

02 What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service.

Information you provide directly:

  • Your email address — used solely for authentication via one-time login code
  • Text snippets you explicitly select and save using "Save to DANGIT"
  • Notes, tasks, and reminders you create within the extension

Information collected automatically:

  • The URL and page title of AI chat sessions, used to associate your saved items with the correct session
  • The count of visible messages in an active conversation, used only to calculate the local context health indicator — this is never sent to our servers

What we do not collect:

  • Your full AI conversation history
  • Any webpage content beyond what you explicitly save
  • Browsing history, search history, or activity on non-AI websites
  • Any personally identifiable information beyond your email address
  • Payment or financial information of any kind

03 How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your account securely
  • To store and retrieve your saved items, notes, tasks, and reminders
  • To generate context summaries when you press "Push summary to chat" — only your saved items are sent, not your full conversation
  • To display the context health indicator locally within the extension

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the DANGIT service to you.

04 Context Summary Generation

When you press "Push summary to chat", DANGIT sends your manually saved text snippets, notes, and tasks to OpenAI's API to generate a compressed context summary, which is then injected into your active AI chat input.

Only the content you have explicitly saved is sent to OpenAI — not your full conversation, not any other page content. We have configured our API usage to opt out of training data use where available.

05 Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase, a cloud database platform with industry-standard security including encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication uses short-lived JWT tokens — we do not store passwords.

All communication between the extension and our servers occurs over HTTPS. No data is ever transmitted over unencrypted connections.

06 Third-Party Services

We do not share your data with any other third parties. We do not use advertising networks, analytics platforms, or tracking services of any kind.

07 Data Retention

Your data is retained until you delete it or request account deletion. You can delete individual saved items at any time from within the extension.

To request full account deletion and permanent removal of all data, email dangit.app@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my account". We will process your request within 30 days and confirm when complete.

08 Chrome Extension Permissions

DANGIT requests the following browser permissions, each used only as described — nothing more.

activeTabTo read the URL and title of your current AI chat for session management, and to inject context into the chat input when you press push.
scriptingTo count visible messages for the local context health indicator, and to inject context text into the chat input field.
storageTo store your authentication token and health state locally in your browser.
contextMenusTo add "Save to DANGIT" when you right-click selected text in an AI conversation.
alarmsTo fire reminder notifications at the exact time you set them.
notificationsTo display reminder alerts you have created within the extension.
tabsTo identify which tab is active when saving or pushing context, so items are associated with the correct session.

The content script runs on all URLs only to enable right-click saving. It does not read, transmit, or store any page content unless you explicitly trigger a save action.

09 Children's Privacy

DANGIT is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact dangit.app@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

10 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact dangit.app@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users via email or a notice within the extension. Continued use of DANGIT after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
